Turkey – our first stop outside the Schengen region.  We landed in Turkey in Cesme in the Izmir region and worked our way along the Mediterranean to Mersin, then headed north through Tarsus and up to Goreme in the beautiful Cappadocia region.  From there we headed west to Istanbul for a few days in the big city, and then continued our way northwest through the ancient city of Edirne to Bulgaria, taking  a shortcut through Greece.
