With a few free weeks in our 2026 summer schedule, we decided that we should see a bit more of Oregon. Crater Lake is Oregon’s only national park. It’s on the far southern end of the state from where we live in Portland. We own a car but would rather ride our bikes there. So that’s what we did. While we only rode past Crater Lake on one day (day 7), we still felt calling the trip a lake tour was legit – discuss… It took us a little over a week, returning to Portland from Southern Oregon via an Amtrak train.
