Croatia

Croatia is our 16th country, right in the heart of the western Balkans.  Like the other Balkan countries, Croatia has a long history with its current borders coming primarily from the breakup of Yugoslavia.  There were probably some adjustment from the 1995 Balkan wars as well.  We will be travelling mostly up the Adriatic seacoast, exiting on the northern border towards Slovenia.  We are pretty excited to have close to two weeks here, getting to use the same currency, mobile phone SIM and language for more than a couple days like the other Balkans that we’ve travelled.
