Just a quick post to let you know we have arrived in Stockholm after a 5 hour train ride from Ystad and are now comfortably ensconced in a great apartment in the Gamla Stan area with my sisters Kathie and Gretchen, who arrived safely from Oregon about the same time we arrived in Stockholm.   It was great to see them finally – it’s been a long time since we’ve seen family and we have really been looking forward to spending time with them.

We did a bit of wandering around the area this afternoon, mainly just to keep Kathie and Gretchen awake as long as we could.  It is now almost 9pm and they are dropping like flies so it will be an early night for all of us.

We will spend 4 days in Stockholm and then will rent a car and head a bit north to try to find some of the old family stomping grounds.  We’ll try to post some photos of our wanderings around Stockholm – it is a great city with lots to do.

Thanks again to Oskar and Julia for all of their great hospitality last week, including getting up at 6am this morning to give us a ride to the train station – you’ve made our Sweden visit a great one so far!

Off to bed now so we can be refreshed and ready to take on Stockholm tomorrow.
