We have had a great time in Darwin the last couple of days while still managing to get all our chores done. We’ve seen some of the sights, eaten some great food, met up with our friend Katrina and got a taste of the type of warm humid weather that we are headed for in SE Asia.
Special thanks to our great WarmShowers hosts in Darwin Pauline and Peter. They made us feel very welcome in their granny flat – the space was great and gave us a chance to relax a bit and spread our things out to figure out what we needed to do to get ready for SE Asia. We had a couple of fun dinners with them and their lovely daughters Rosie and Ruby, with good food and interesting conversation. And I got the chance to pretend to have a cat for a few days – Pixie visited us regularly in the flat to investigate what we were up to. I don’t think we could have asked for a better place to stay. They came to our aid when we could not find other accommodation in Darwin due to our arrival in the city at its busiest time and we are very grateful for their help.
We fly out to Singapore (through Sydney) tomorrow (well, barely tomorrow – flight departs at 1:45am!). After a couple of days in Singapore to get organised and get some visas we will be on our way to the next leg of this adventure!
Hi Nancy and Dave – logged in today after a long time to read about your adventures and discovered that you are on your way to SE Asia. Change of plan???
Belated Happy Wedding Anniversary for 17th. Looks like you took the day off on your anniversary. No blog for that day. Sorry, did not call you. Have been at home with a terrible headache. Could not even get to work today.
Lots of love and have a great time in SE Asia.
Will stay in touch over email.
Lots of love
Prajakti
Don’t forget to set up the new map link on the site!
Have fun and have a safe journey in Asia!
